Highwright is an independent game studio based in Australia. We collect only the information you choose to share through this site.
Who we are
Highwright operates this website. You can reveal our email address in the Contact tab to ask a privacy question, exercise your rights, or make a complaint.
What we collect
If you join our updates list, we collect your email address. If you email us, we receive the email address and message you choose to send through your email provider and ours, not through this website. To protect site actions from abuse, we also create a short-lived one-way hash from your network address and record request counts. We do not use that hash to identify you. An unsubscribe link contains a random identifier, not your email address. Please do not include sensitive personal information in a message.
How and why we use it
We use signup details to send the occasional Highwright or game update you requested, contact details to reply to your message, and technical information to prevent spam and keep the site secure. We rely on your consent for updates, our legitimate interests in responding to messages and protecting the site, and legal obligations where they apply. We do not sell or rent personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or make decisions about you solely by automated means.
Where it goes
We use service providers to run the site, including Cloudflare for hosting, storage, and security, and our email provider for messages you send us. They may process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Where required, we use contractual and other legally recognised safeguards for international transfers. We otherwise disclose information only when needed to operate the site or when required by law.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use advertising cookies, behavioural analytics, or cross-site tracking. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary technologies to deliver and protect the site.
Retention and security
Signup details are kept until you unsubscribe or they are no longer needed. Confirming an unsubscribe request deletes your email address from the subscriber list immediately. Contact messages are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond and maintain necessary business records. Site-protection records use a 24-hour retention cutoff. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
Every marketing email will identify Highwright and include a working unsubscribe option. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive your information, and to object to some uses. You can withdraw your consent to updates at any time without affecting earlier lawful use. Use the Contact tab to make a request or raise a concern. We will respond within one month where required, and you may complain to your local privacy regulator. You do not have to provide an email address, but without one we cannot send updates or reply.
Children
This site and its forms are intended for people aged 16 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from younger people through the site. If you believe a younger person has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
